Light Up Shoes

Confession: I may or may not have bought light up shoes today.  Oh, let's be honest, I totally bought light up shoes today.

I have been blessed with small enough feet that I can wear kids sized shoes.  I am also of the opinion, that sometimes, kids shoes are a lot more fun than adult shoes.  They are also, frequently, much cheaper.

Today we, hubby and I, ventured out to get a juicer and dog food and along the way we stopped at Payless because I had received a 20% off coupon at the grocery store last week.  Adding sweetness to the deal was the fact that Payless was having a buy 1, get 1 half off deal.  I'm a girl, I had to look, and ever since I found out I could still wear kids shoes a few months back, I always look at their shoes first.

I ended up getting a basic pair of black sneakers that will do until I earn the TOMS I want (I'm trying to lose weight and reward myself every 5 pounds with something I really want) and my LIGHT UP SHOES!!!  You can mock me all I want, but I think it's the funniest thing ever.  They are pink an sparkly, and the toes and the sides light up when I walk.  Will people look at me like I'm crazy?  Yup!  Will they make me laugh a lot?  Yup!  Was it worth it?  Yup!  If anything, they make me a better teacher because they help me relate to my students.  At least, that's what I tell myself.

Maizey is unimpressed with my light up shoes.

Husband mocks my shoes, but luckily he loves me & generally encourages my sillyness.

My other big thing today was looking at houses in NV.  As anyone who reads my blog is well aware, I really want a baby and a house to put that baby in.  Well, hubby's family is in NV and we are considering moving there (only if he got a job first).  Houses here are just so expensive and where we're looking, we could get a 4 bed, 3 bath in a nice neighborhood for 180,000.  That means with less than $10,000 down we would be looking at a monthly payment around $900 a month.

This would mean babies and no working for me, that much sooner.  I really want to be a stay at home mom.  We shall see, it's just one of the many options we are considering; but, it's definitely a possibility.  Plus, we have two family members with babies due in 2011 and our kids could have some close in age playmates.  Here, I don't know anyone having a baby anytime soon.

Only from me would you get house hunting and light up shoes all in one post; but, that's how I roll. :)
